Buffalo Senior Advisor covers two adjoining New York counties. Erie County (2020 Census population 954,236) is the region's urban and suburban core, seated in the city of Buffalo itself. Niagara County (population 212,666) is smaller and more rural, seated in Lockport and anchored by Niagara Falls. Both counties fall under the same Long Term Care Ombudsman region (Region 15, administered by People Inc.) and share access to the same hospital systems for higher-acuity discharge planning, but each has its own county Department of Social Services, Adult Protective Services unit, and Area Agency on Aging.
